Located in Boneo on the Mornington Peninsula, Hawkes Farm is a family-run business offering a variety of fresh produce. Here you can find not only their products but a handpicked selection of the finest local produce you can find all over the Mornington Peninsula.
The Farmgate Store and Food Truck
The Farmgate Store carries a wide range of fruits, vegetables, and other gourmet products from all over the Peninsula, including brands such as Johnny Ripe pies, Boatshed Cheese, Mumma Made jams, Little Acre tomatoes, Rye Sourdough bread, Cape Schanck Olive Estate olive oil, Red Hill Truffles truffle products & Fresh Herb Company plants and herbs.
You can also grab a cup of delicious coffee made with beans from Little Rebel and a slice of cake supplied by the Hidden Kitchen. Don’t forget to drop by during weekends and catch their food truck that serves their famous thrice-cooked hot chips, hand-cut from their homegrown potatoes. These chips are gluten-free and made with just potato, cottonseed oil, and salt!
Aside from getting fresh produce and delicious treats, Hawkes Farm also offers group tours for community groups, schools, kindergartens, and childcare centres. The tour will take you on a little adventure around the 140-acre farm riding a trailer towed by a tractor. You’ll have the opportunity to pick some vegetables to take home and relax in the veggie patch where you can talk to the farmers and learn about vegetables and other produce.
Hawkes Farm’s founder, Richard Hawkes, comes from six generations of farmers. Having the community at heart, Richard ensures that everything at the shop is responsibly and sustainably sourced from other local farmers around Mornington Peninsula. Through his invaluable efforts, the farm has won gold at the Food Tourism 2019 RACV Victorian Tourism Awards.
The farm is open Monday to Saturday – from 8:00 – 5:00 and Sunday from 9:00 – 4:00 (Closed on Christmas Day).
