What’s On The Peninsula - Thursday 11 & Sunday 14 March 2010

Summer on the Peninsula – A Holiday by the Sea with Wonderful Beaches, picturesque Townships, Galleries & Antiques, Fine Food and Wine, Warm Hospitality and Great Family Fun - and all just an easy hour from Melbourne.

There is a huge choice of great family things to do on the Peninsula including Ashcombe Maze and Lavender Gardens at Shoreham, Boneo Maze and Wetlands at Fingal near Rosebud, there is also the Enchanted Maze Garden at Arthurs Seat and then of course there is the fabulous Cape Schanck Boardwalk, Lighthouse and Museum and the Park at Pt Nepean steeped in history features historic tunnels, coastal walks and local wildlife.

Presently on exhibition at Montalto Vineyard and Olive Grove in Shoreham Rd Red Hill South  is the 2010 Montalto Sculpture Prize where you can explore and marvel at the creativity of the 26 finalists that made the final cut.

This Saturday is the Mornington Racecourse Market 

Running through to Anzac weekend – Sandsculpture – Great Moments in History on the Frankston Foreshore.

·         From 18 March the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery has two new exhibitions commencing, Beyond the Persona: Eminent Women of Victoria & Zhongjian: Midway. Details 5975 4395.

The Mornington Railway operates 1st, 2nd and 3rd Sundays of each month. Join the train at either the old Moorooduc Station or Mornington Station in Watt Rd.

What’s NEW

The second stage of Peninsula Hot Springs is now open with 39 new bathing experiences, New Bath House, New Café & Family Bathing area. Enquiries 5950 8777.

The Quarantine Station at Point Nepean National Park is now open to the public.

The long awaited Landmark Cellar Door and Restaurant at Port Phillip Estate is now open – bookings essential. Ph 59just in time for Summer.
